Privacy Policy for ClanCal

Effective Date: May 20, 2026
Company: ClanCal
Contact: support@clancal.com

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and any content you upload or share within the app.

If you use features that require camera access (for example, adding photos or scanning codes), images are processed locally on your device and uploaded only if you choose to share them.

If you connect Google Calendar, ClanCal collects the Google Calendar event data needed to sync your schedule, including calendar identifiers and names, event titles, descriptions, dates, times, locations, recurrence and status details, attendee or availability details provided by Google, and OAuth tokens needed to keep the connection working.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide core app functionality (family scheduling, trip planning, and list management)
  • Sync data across your devices and family accounts
  • Improve app performance and reliability

We use Google Calendar data only to provide calendar sync and family scheduling features, including showing your events in ClanCal, importing changes from Google Calendar, creating, updating, or deleting calendar events when you choose to sync changes, detecting schedule conflicts, sending reminders, and helping you manage shared family plans.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or retargeting, transfer it to advertising platforms, use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility, or use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

When you use ClanCal assistant features, relevant calendar details may be processed only to answer your request or perform the scheduling action you ask for. We do not allow providers to use Google user data to train generalized AI or machine learning models.

3. Camera and Media Permissions

Camera access is used only when you choose to capture a photo or scan within the app. No continuous background access or facial recognition is performed.

4. Data Security

All communication between your app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Access to your account is secured by authentication (email or third-party sign-in). Google Calendar OAuth tokens are stored encrypted.

Google Calendar data may be visible to family or household members you choose to share with in ClanCal, and may be processed by trusted service providers that help us operate ClanCal, such as hosting, storage, security, diagnostics, support, notification delivery, and assistant infrastructure. These providers may process the data only for ClanCal's service purposes.

5. Your Rights

You may delete your account and associated data at any time from the app or by contacting support@clancal.com. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time. When you disconnect a Google Calendar connection or delete your ClanCal account, we remove stored OAuth tokens and delete local synced copies of Google Calendar events from active systems, subject to limited backup, security, and legal-retention needs.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at: https://www.clancal.com/privacy

In-App Camera Disclosure
