Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Frisco Native American Museum by joining Abenaki Elder Francine Jones* for the second year in a row! A gifted storyteller and musician, Francine will be sharing with everyone traditional teaching stories and music that promises to be a treat for all ages. For example, did you know there's a song to ward off mosquitoes? Get a chance to learn it and sing along! Did you ever wonder why dogs are so loyal and called "Man's best friend"? Hear the exciting story for yourself! Children attending will get to participate in a Feather Dance! Francine will also have a table of traditional items with adults to do a Q&A and children to explore. Hear about how the Abenaki people used certain furs or guess what use an unfamiliar item you see has. Event is FREE with museum admission Francine is an advocate for maintaining and protecting the Abenaki language and culture, member of the Vermont Abenaki Artists Association, and on the Board for the Abenaki Arts & Education Center.
